Kaylee Hottle, the young actress renowned for her role as Jia in the MonsterVerse films “Godzilla vs. Kong” and “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire,” tragically passed away at 18 following a car accident in Maryland. The Texas School for the Deaf, where she was a student, confirmed her untimely death, expressing profound condolences to her family, friends, and everyone who cherished her.
The fatal crash took place early Tuesday morning in Frederick, Maryland. Local authorities reported that the incident occurred when a 1995 Honda Accord veered off the roadway, colliding with a culvert. Excessive speed is suspected to have played a role in the accident.
Hottle, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was transported to a nearby trauma center. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead upon arrival. The 19-year-old driver of the car sustained injuries, though they were not deemed life-threatening. Another passenger in the vehicle refused medical attention.
Hottle’s portrayal of Jia, a deaf orphan with a unique connection to Kong, garnered significant acclaim for its authentic representation of the deaf community. Her performance was celebrated for bringing an important and genuine perspective to audiences worldwide.
